My BEDREST Journey..

A lot of people ask me about what it’s like to be on bed rest. They have a sister/girlfriend/wife who has just been put on it, and they have no idea what to do. I'm now on my 14th week of bed rest with Baby East (roughly 3mo.s)

The spotting started when i was on my 2nd Tri i was "18weeks" it was only supposed to be for a few days, as a precaution. I was a bit worried about the pregnancy but since everything initially checked out okay I decided to enjoy not having to go out in the hot weather. Then, after a few weeks I was rushed in the hospital and got admitted at the High Risk Pregnancy Unit i got hospitalized for almost a week due to preterm labor i was put on temporary precautionary bed rest in the hospital.

When i got home I was put on full-time no-holds-barred bed rest. I was only allowed to get up to go to the bathroom. I was allowed a five minute shower but only if I sat down on a seat while I cleaned myself. I needed to lay on my side, preferably my left one, at all times. Never on my back, and I wasn’t ever supposed to sit up because that would stress my abdominal muscles. Gravity was a serious issue since I was constantly having continious spotting.

So many people told me, “enjoy the rest, because when the baby comes, you won’t get any.” Anyone who says that has never been on bed rest. While everyone obviously meant well, it did cheer me up. I tried to stay positive. Every little ache and pain was feared to be so much more.

Doctors shouldn’t call it bed “rest.” For me, there was nothing restful about it. I was constantly thinking about my condition. I did hours of research on the Internet about babies and mothers in our situation. I wanted to be prepared for anything (like ill be having a premee baby) there were so many things to prepare for that, it totally messed with my mind.

Pregnant women are a pretty paranoid bunch these days anyway, what with all the things not to eat, do, etc. Throw in a high risk pregnancy and I can guarantee mental breakdowns. I had a lot of them. Even though I had Erik and my family and friends (I was allowed to take visitors), I still felt like I was in solitary confinement. I started to wonder what I could have done differently. I shouldn’t have been outside over Christmas Sales etc.. When you have nothing to do but think? your mind plays terrible tricks on you.

The one thing I never expected was how totally draining bed rest would be. Because all I could do was lay there, I would sleep in small bursts. Thirty minutes here, 45 minutes there. No long stretches, ever, even at night. I became very knowledgeable on the morning/late night television schedule. I had trouble concentrating on everything. I could feel my muscles twitching. My hips and lower back are, I fear, still totally messed up from supporting all my weight in the same position for days on end. I have a pillow top mattress and a memory foam pad so i can sleep well.

I had some really low moments. Times I just wanted to give up. I felt like I was going to crack and I couldn’t do it anymore. It was so hard, the enormity so overwhelming, Thank goodness I have my husband. He never judged me when I was at my most selfish, crying because I was uncomfortable or because I wouldn’t be able to do something. He never threw anything in my face. I never could have made it without him.

Now that i have reached my final pregnancy month looking back from day one of my bed rest seems like a lifetime ago.

I would remind myself, even during my low points, that every day Im on bed rest im just thinking of a healthy and cute Baby East after this memorable journey. That is my biggest advice to all moms on bed rest – KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE. Every day is magical! Embrace every pain, because that's the beauty of being a Mother :')

Today i officially hit my 34th week!! Baby East is all well and very much healthier now. I can feel all his intense slash "acrobatic" movements specially during night time. I'm getting more excited to see him! (teary eyed)

Another week of survival! Im still praying that everything will turn out smooth and fine! Thank you Papa God!

Stressed Out!

I've been so very emotional lately. Very much devastated and the feeling is draining. I know, i shouldnt be thinking and accepting stress rightnow but what can i do? if there is someone dragging you down and pulling off your patience to the maximum level. I can make tiis for my kids YES but this time AROUND? specially w/ my condition "sino ang hindi papalag?" i really cant take it any longer. I need to breathe this OUT to lessen the pain im having.

Thank God my Mom understands me and this time around she's being a Mother not only to me but also to her grand children. I feel so secured.

"Ang hirap ng walang kakampi" feeling left out, "feeling kina-kaya kaya" and played around. I'm timid YES but marunong din naman ako makiradam and i know when to say "Tama na at sobra na"

To end this entry all i can say is that People now a days are smart ass cruel. They really now how to play the game well. And i cant stand it!

Baby East Update

Visited my Ob-gyn yesterday for my ff up check up. Then had some lab test (blood and urine) to double check if everything is okay. Then had my pelvic ultrasound for growth monitoring of Baby East. And thank god my ultrasound result is very much okay. My Ob-gyn is so happy as well.

Baby East gained 500grams in 2weeks time (Thanks to Amino acid and Enfa mama) I think they are the boosters.

The Mommy is a bit teary eyed when i learned that he gained weight already (i told you Baby despite all the negative vibes around us we can still do this just hang in there!) Mommy will take good care of you.

Well in the latter note i still have to stay bed rest until i reach (36-37weeks) if at 35weeks my cervix were safe/fine already Ob said that she'll allow me to go malling so i can buy stuff for my little one already. (but 'still' in wheel chair) and IM EXCITED! I can see the world again in full shot.

All in all im so happy that my Baby East is growing very much healthy.

Thank you Papa God and Padre Pio for listening to all my prayers. My Kids and I love you both so much.

I was admitted again yesterday morning here in the hospital. My OB had to monitor my baby's heartrate and my contractions. *sigh*

BedRest Pains

Lastnight while having a QTime w/ my son and husband. I had this strange pain in my lower back and i am extremely hurting. I cried while my husband carried me up to changed my position. Super naiyak talaga ako sa mga joint pains and back pains ko kagabi.

Then my husband handed me a glass of water and while drinking he hugged me and touched my tummy sabi nya "kaya mo yan beh relax ka lang.."

So i tried to stay calm and refrain from crying (Oh well my pregnancy hormones were very active lastnight. I'm crying like a baby)

Thanks that Erik is always on my side.
I know that he is not the perfect husband but for whatever its worth for me he is that ONE person God really wants me to have. And im very much thankful of having him now!

It's almost 2weeks now and yes im surviving my BED rest. Thank you lord!

Back, neck, muscle aches name it! I have it! But the good thing is i know my baby will be safe.

So while my condition is like this husband needs to do all the "Mommy Duties" including my favorite grocery shopping. And infairness he knows how to handle things now (ng matipid) he used to buy lots of stuff that is not important. And at times i need to stop him from getting all these JunkFoods etc. yes he's like a 12yr old kid inside a grocery store. Hee! :)

Soo lastnight from work he called me and informed me that he'll be doing our grocery :) Surprisingly lahat ng binili nya tama! Including Eon's food.

Then he handed me this cute iPhone casing... Pasalubong nya daw saakin (haha i never like Paul Frank but now i love him)

Today is my 6th day and we're going home!!! Finally! I really cant wait to see my son.

Done w/ all my test (urine culture - CBC) and my last steroid shot.
My OBGYN's advise is to continue my complete bed rest at home for one whole mo. Meaning i cant even work at home.

Will go back again on Oct 17 for my ff up check-up.

So happy that i have a very well hearted doctor that really took care of me and my babies (Eon and Baby Pengi) were so shocked when we learned that my OB will not charge me for her Prof Fee!!! I'm a one lucky preggo!!

My Steriod Shot

My 5th day here at the hospital...
Woke up at around 6am today my RN had my doppler check and vital signs.

Ate my B.Fast at around 8am then had my Betamethasone Steriod Vaccine Shot at my left arm. What Betamethasone can do to my baby? (pls find my research about my steriod shot)

Steroid Injection for Fetal Lung Development

Injections of corticosteroids for fetal lung development has been praised as one of the best advances in fetal medicine in the 90s. Since 1994 the National Institutes for Health and other professional organizations have encouraged their use in promoting the development of fetal lung development in moms who were at risk for preterm labor or birth.

Betamethasone and dexamethasone are the two most commonly used steroids. The average protocol was to give to intramuscular injections (IM) 24 hours apart. Some practitioners also choose to continually repeat the dosages every week until the birth. The injections had to be given 24-48 hours prior to the birth for maximum effect. They were also best used between weeks 24 and 34 gestation.

The use of the steroids provided benefits for the lung development in the premature infants to reduce the risk of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) as well as to reduce the risk of intracranial hemorrhaging and some other potential benefits.

Early this afternoon my in-laws visited me (Erik's Papa and Mommy) w/ Eon.

Happy to see my son after 2days far from him. I cant wait to go home and feel better.

By the way.. I checked out from DR's HighRisk Pregnancy Unit and was now transferred in a regular room. Happy to know that Pengi's condition is doing stable inside Mommy's tummy.

Will continue my oral medications, monitoring etc..

I wanted to play and cuddle Eon but i just can't bec, of my condition. :'(
My heart ia crying out loud. I really wish that this spotting will end soon.

At 8:30am today my OBGYN visited me for a routine check.

She advised me to still stay here at the hospital until my 24th week and until my spottings are gone.

Im trying not to think as much as i can. Pls continue praying for me and my baby.

3rd Day High Risk Pregnancy Unit

Today is my 3rd day here at the hospital im still here staying at the high risk pregnancy unit. :( I feel so worried and my OBGYN told me that we have to prevent my Pre-Term Labor at 23weeks

Been praying very hard and hoping that everything will be alright! I'm keeping my faith strong and i know Papa God will never leave my side. I want to see my Little Eonie :( I miss him so much. Hindi ko pa alam until when ako dito sa hospital :(

Today also i had to wake up as early as 5am to monitor my baby.

Today is my 2nd day here at the High Risk Pregnanacy Unit (St Lukes Medical Center)
My husband had to rush me here yesterday due to Pre-Term Labor "again". :(
I'm so scared and worried. Memories from my 1st pregnancy are coming back.

So many test (blood,urine etc) Baby's Fetal and Movement Check and IE's done.

Today 9:30am i had my Transvaginal Ultrasound w/ (Cervical Scoring) Waiting for my OB for the result. Praying that everything will be alright. :'(

It's 3:39am and crazzzzy im still awake. Slept at around 10pm then woke up at 1:30am to take a pee. Now i'm still alive and kickin' so i just thought of doing this blog nalang.. Oh well papel hihi

Happy that there's this Blogger App for iPhone i can easily update my blogspot time to time. (any hit of the day!) *cheesle*

Uhmm what am i thinking about as of this moment?

1.) I'm so excited to see my Pengi#2
(excited to buy his things too, i feel like a first time mom but more equiped w/ tons of knowledge) Hee! :))

2.) I want to have a vacation w/ my Family (sana kung pwede lang 1week vacay why not) hehe

3.) I'm thankful that my husband loves me so much despite all my crazyness!
(sometimes ako na nahihiya sa pagka demanding ko.But still he supports me. hehe thats the reason why i choose to be w/ this man for the rest of my life)

4.) Thinking of KUMON for my Son Eon will enroll him soon.. (next month maybe. Education is my number priority for my children. My husband and i will do our best to give them the best education they'll be needing.

Ever since i became a Mother my random thoughts continues to grow.. I admit since childhood im a walking question mark. '???' (Hindi ako nawawalan ng tanong) in short im makulit specialy if i want to know something.

Im a worrier too.. Or i only think too much! My Childrens Educ. Future and whatsoever...

Then i realized we just need to keep our faith strong and nothing is impossible! God will save us and shower us with all the unexpected blessings. :') Ive been a witness!

Had my CAS ultrsaound yesterday morning w/ Eon, Yaya and Mother-in-Law (Husband can't ask for a one day leave yet because of his training for his new work)

Anyhow as i was saying..
Got teary eyed and very much happy with the result! (after all those spotting,stomachache, severe cramping ive been thru) baby pengi is all well and very healthy. I thank God for always guiding me.

..but wait there's more :)

We're having a baby BOY again.Yaay!
(My Husband is so happy as well)
I dont know but my gut feel is so strong.

Thank you again papa GOD for giving me this wonderful gift of life. Amen.

5mo.s and counting...

this is technically 3rd time of my pregnancy journey

(Had a miscarriage last January 2008

and gave birth to my Son last April 2009 and now Pengi#2 is on the way...)

Ive been experiencing some difficulties at times (due to stress)

but little Pengi is doing good and healthy. Thank God :)

I know Papa God will always be there to guide me and my little one as well...

It's been a loooong while after i have time updating my blog. :)

Whew! time flies sooo fast so many things had happened and i havent shared a thing. *aaaw thats sad*
by the way how many weeks form now and its our 1st wedding anniversary.

Erik doesnt want to spend too much effort on this but he wants to celebrate our special day w/ the whole banate family :-)

Yesterday it hit me hard.

That moment when a mom realizes that their baby isnt quite a baby any more.

EON: 18months old.. and counting!

This kid is his own little man and is needing me less and less.

Luckily, even though he prefers to do most things on his own,
he still loves to cuddle with mommy and daddy and hopefully
that will last a few more months or better, years.

YES!!!

AppleCare’s main advantage is that it is an extended protection coverage by the original manufacturer.

This means that when you need service you should have fewer problems with getting a proper repair done and having the parts available. Apple is clearly the expert on its own products, so hardware and software support should be of high quality.

Jaws dropped when Lady Gaga took the stage at the 2010 Video Music Awards last night wearing meat from head to toe. And, surprise — her VMA meat dress was made with REAL MEAT! Franc Fernandez, the Los Angeles-based designer/artist behind the dress, confirmed that it was real meat when we caught up with him this morning. But now that we know it's REAL, we're left with so many more burning questions for Franc Fernandez! Did it smell? Was it bloody? Was it heavy? Was Lady Gaga comfortable? So, we chatted with designer Franc Fernandez tonight to find out all the juicy details. Find out everything you ever wanted to know about Lady Gaga's meat dress below!

What was your inspiration?

Franc Fernandez: "I was contacted by her stylist, Nicola Formichetti, and they had already shot the picture with Terry Richardson in the meat bikini for Vogue Hommes Japan. They told me that they wanted to make a main dress [out of meat], so I did it."
What kind of meat was it?

"I don't know what it's called in English, but in Argentina, it's called matambre. I went to my butcher to get it, in Los Angeles in the valley. He's the butcher that my family goes to. I'm trying to get him a signed picture of it."
How many pounds of meat did you buy?

"I bought a lot of meat because I wanted extra. I would say more than 50 pounds of meat. Is that a lot?"
How heavy was it?

"It was fairly heavy. She said it was the most comfortable dress of the night, though. I'm guessing it weighed around forty pounds. It's built on a corset, so the weight is distributed on her chest, so it's not like it's hanging off her neck."

Was it comfortable?

"She said so."

Were there leftovers?

"Not very much, no."

Did it leave a blood trail?

"No, not at all. It's actually very clean meat, very sturdy and strong and doesn't run at all. It's the meat you use to make a roast, where you roll it in a tortilla and put it in the oven. Hence, the shoes — that's why they were wrapped in butcher twine."
Did it smell?

"Gaga said it smelled good. It had a sweet smell. It hadn't been sitting out for more than five hours. And it's not a heavy gross meat."
Did you have to keep it refrigerated?

"While it was being made it was refrigerated, [worked on] and then refrigerated. It took a span of two days on and off. Maybe three with sourcing and getting materials and everything."

Will this dress "go bad"?

"Well, yes. And it's a dress that will dry out. The meat dries out, rather than rotting. It becomes jerky. But, it shouldn't be worn again."

Was the look designed, or did you drape it naturally?

"I just did the meat. You can't really design something that we're making out of organic pieces. It's like 'This piece can go here,' and you look at the cuts you have and you drape it."

How do you drape meat?

"I've done some draping, it just seemed logical to me. The way I was doing it, nothing about it was much of a challenge, except for the time it took. I had helping hands that were great. It was just sewing through meat, which is a little weird, but it's not rocket science. I just used regular string, some stronger thread, nothing unusual."

What did it feel like on Lady Gaga's body?

"There was a corset but the rest of it was skin on skin. Initially it was cold, but then it warmed up. Not too much, though. She said she wasn't warm at all, especially under those lights, it didn't heat up."

Did Gaga have to be sewn into the dress?

"She went in through the bottom. Some of it she was sewn into. I was backstage."
Did you treat the meat with any preservatives?

"No, not at all."

How did you transport the dress?

"I'm in Los Angeles. So, I had a little cooler that I carried it in — its own little coffin."

When Lady Gaga sat down, did the meat rub onto the chair upholstery?

"Well, it shouldn't have because it's not a sticky meat. It's not a messy dress at all, surprisingly. But I didn't see the seat after she sat on it. But I've been handling that meat for two days and there is nothing messy about it."

What would the dress feel like? Like for Cher and those who touched it?

"It would feel like meat I suppose. It's all natural."
What happens to the meat dress now?

"The dress will be put in an archive with all of her dresses. The Gaga Archives, I suppose. It won't last, that's the beauty of it. When it is brought out again, hopefully it will be in a retrospective, and it will be a different dress, which is the best thing. I like the idea of it changing and evolving into something else. My butcher said I could taxidermy it if I wanted it to stay the way it is, and I didn't want to stay that way. Seems like a waste to keep it that way, than to watch it change."

How did you come up with the idea of butcher strings on her shoes?

"I was referencing the whole meat theme. I bought the strings at a butcher supply store."

What were the crystal pieces on her meat purse?

"It’s an antique brooch that was applied to the meat."

Gaga said this dress represents that we shouldn't be treated like a piece of meat. What does this dress represent for you?

"I have to agree with her. I just think it looked great."

Where is it now?

"I'm not sure. She has people who handle everything, so it's with them."

Would you create this look again?

"I think it's just that—it's just the meat dress. There's not going to be meat dresses in the future. This was made for a specific purpose. It's what it is."

When you saw her wear this dress, what went through your mind?

"She's wearing my meat dress! It just looked great on her and she made it look easy and things come very naturally to her."

A kindergarten teacher has decided to let her class play a game.

The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes.

Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates, So the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates. So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for 1 week.

Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended...

The teacher asked: "How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for 1 week?". The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go.

Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game. The teacher said: "This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime???"

Moral of the story: Throw away any hatred for anyone from your heart so that you will not carry sins for a lifetime.
Forgiving others is the best attitude to take!

Anyhow back to topic.

I’ve had enough with my allergies and asthma. Frankly, I don’t even know if I officially have allergies, and if I do, what I am allergic to. When I went to my doctor a couple years ago, I was told that I have a mild case of asthma. But, nothing really regarding an allergy.

It’s time for me to start doing something about it, because it is a life-hindering issue. While I don’t have problems every day, I do often have issues with coughing attacks that interrupt my day, and are frankly embarrassing when around other people.

When I research this article, it was just as much for my own good as providing information for other asthma and food allergy sufferers.

If you have issues with allergies and/or asthma, and you’re not quite sure what to do about it other than “throw medicine” at the problem, you need to know what foods trigger attacks. While there is no diet that has been proven to cure asthma, the following are some of the foods known to trigger attacks:

Most people with food allergies experience symptoms such as rash, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In my case, I get an itchy skin, throat, cough uncontrollably, and even sometimes experience a closing of my throat.

My advice to my fellow Asthmatics: Other than going to an allergy specialist, the only way you can beat a food allergy or asthma attack brought on by food is to eliminate the trigger foods. If you can do without all of them, Great! If you want to narrow it down, maybe reintroduce one food at a time to see how you react.

So... again to you ASTHMA!!! Please please go away!!!

As of today I’m 16mo.s and 10days old Mom to my son EON

and having my little one really CHANGED my life big time.

Well this question crack up my mind:

WHAT IS THE ESSENCE OF BEING A WOMAN?

This question was asked to Ms. Universe '94 Miss India Sushmita Sen. Sushmita's famous answer: "Just being a woman is God's gift. The origin of a child is a mother, a woman. She shows a man what sharing, caring, and loving is all about. That is the essence of a woman."

It was the question that always makes me think and thank God for giving me my wonderful gift. Now that I'm a mother, I’m even more excited to wake up each day of my life. Hugging, Cuddling, Kissing and Smelling my angel’s breath is one of my favorite daily routine of my every morning. Next in line? Watching My husband Erik while he sleeps. Seeing him every morning on the other side of our bed, waking him up with my huge hug is a YES WAY!

On the other hand I just want to share this…

When I was a little girl I’m always praying to Papa God, asking him to grant my

ULTIMATE wish “for me to have that chance of seeing my DADDY”

My daddy left us when I was 8 mo.s old. I don’t even know how he looks like,

all I know is his name and that’s it! and SAD TO SAY

I don’t even have a picture of him. What hurts me even more back then is

when my mom doesn’t even want to talk about him anymore.

But come November of 2009 our good Lord finds a way for me to reach my

Dad and well the rest is a HISTORY!!!

Until this very moment I still can’t believe, all these CHANGES is happening in my crazy life. After so many years, NOW i can say that I’m so complete.

ATLEAST NOW I HAVE 3 OF THE MOST IMPORTANT MAN IN MY LIFE.

What else could I ask for? I’m loving the fact that now i HAVE a Father!!! And i’m loving my Dad big time!!! I want to thank my husband for always being there for me and for the nth time i’m loving him more this time, he is the best Father Eon could ever have. I never even imagine a life without them.

And for our little one I’M VERY MUCH INLOVE WITH YOU!

Rest assured that I would do everything for you.

I will try to be the BEST MOM that I can be.

MOMMY will never leave your side no matter what.

I also know that PAPA GOD and your Guardian ANGELS will always protect and love you dearly.

And all she have given you these years you possibly cant give anything back in return. But atleast… a hug, a bunch of flowers, and a warm kiss, for her very special day is enough for her to feel how much you appreciate her.

To those who are married, .. Not married .. and soon to be married, I hope you will be touched with this story...

MARRIAGE When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes. Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking.

I want a divorce.. I raised the topic calmly. She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Dew. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her! With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now. The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew. When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing.

I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again. In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage. This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day. She requested that everyday for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning.. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request. I told Dew about my wife's divorce conditions.. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.. My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office. On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time.. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Dew about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger. She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily. Suddenly it hit me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mum out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day. But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy. I drove to office.... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind...I walked upstairs. Dew opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead.. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other any more. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart. Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears.

I walked downstairs and drove away. At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart. That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank.

These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage! If you don't share this, nothing will happen to you. If you do, you just might save a marriage. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

...i miss waking up EARLY for work.
